Markus Kosak Introduces Himself

Have you ever drunk an ice-cold Castle Lager in Johannesburg or refreshed yourself with a lassi in a café in Mumbai? No? I had the luck to make one of my hobbies, namely travel and getting to know foreign cultures, into my career.

As project manager for overseas drinktec trade fairs, I now design our three international trade fairs in China, India and South Africa. My roots are at drinktec, for which I worked within the context of temporary employment at Messe München in 2005.

A member of the drinktec team since 2007, the issue of trade fairs in other countries moved more and more into my focus starting from 2012. The beverage industry is a global family, which reinvents itself repeatedly in individual regions. The Indians use the word “glocalisation” for this: global products tailored to individual regions. Creating platforms for the beverage industry in emerging markets and bringing people of different cultures together fills me with enthusiasm, especially because creativity, dealing with people and quick actions are required.

2016 is going to be a terrific year for us all! The kickoff will take place in September with food & drink technology Africa, followed by the first China Brew China Beverage in Shanghai, and we will the celebrate the conclusion together at drink technology India in December.

I am already looking forward to stimulating conversations during our trade fairs abroad.
