CBB – Day 2

This morning was entirely devoted to the drinktec press conference. I already had arranged to meet my Chinese colleagues at 8:30 a.m. for a “dry run”. Unfortunately, I did not find the room at first. The Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC) is rather narrow and winding. The good thing was that when I arrived, the technical equipment had already been set up and we could start immediately with the final rehearsal. Everything was ready to go at 10:30 a.m., and the press conference began. Petra Westphal, Cluster Director of drinktec, Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Managing Director of Messe München, Richard Clemens, Managing Director of VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery and Volker Kronseder, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Krones AG sat next to me on the podium. The press conference was packed to bursting and the questions showed that there is a lot of interest in drinktec in China. A special highlight was the guest appearance by Linda Gragnato, who provided an overview of SIMEI@drinktec as a representative of SIMEI. And she did that all in Chinese: amazing! After the press conference, I then took the opportunity to collect important statements using my charm.

I recovered from the press conference with a few tasty beers (OK, it was only one and I just tested it) at the BEER EXPERIENCE booth.

With my tongue loose, I then replaced our Chinese colleague at the drinktec international booth and provided information to visitors about drinktec, food & drink technology Africa and drink technology India. I had more than enough information thanks to the press conference J.

Then there was the VIP Dinner with our colleagues from Heli on the evening schedule. In addition to very tasty food again, we were able to try tasty Chinese craft beers. Work and play in one: is it possible to have a better job?
